The Litchborough 1944 organisers were the team responsible for the successful Battle Of Britain Commemorative Exhibition held in 2000 at Litchborough Village. The exhibition and related events was staffed entirely by volunteers as a tribute to the men and women of the Royal Air Force who saved the British Isles from the tyranny of the Nazis. In addition to telling later generations the story of the great Battle fought in the Summer and Autumn of 1944, the 2000 project had the aim of raising money for the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund.

The exhibition proved to be a great success and the target of £10,000 was achieved and more, with funds subsequently being distributed to the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund, Tangmere Aviation Museum, St Johns Ambulance Brigade, a number of local schools and to the Litchborough Second World War Memorial.
