LITCHBOROUGH is a small village in South Northamptonshire, located approximately 6 miles North West of Towcester.

During the Second World War, Litchborough was the base for B Squadron of 13/18 Royal Hussars, a tank regiment in the British Army. The 13/18 Royal Hussars were equipped with the famous Duplex Drive Sherman “swimming” tank and were the first unit of the British Army ashore on Sword Beach at 07.00 hours on 6 June 1944.

Our exhibition will focus on the epic story of the D-Day landings, the role played by 13/18 Royal Hussars and also tell the story of Litchborough at war. Apart from being home to B Squadron of 13/18 Royal Hussars, Litchborough had an eventful war and other highlights included:
